Ayurvedic Ojas Golden Milk recipe that’s grounding, restorative, and designed to build Ojas while calming the nervous system.
(Serves 1 – evening or anytime you need deep nourishment)
Ingredients
- 1 cup organic milk (cow, almond, or oat)
- ½ cup water (optional for lighter version)
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 pinch nutmeg (especially for evening)
- 1–2 strands saffron (optional but excellent for ojas)
- 1 tsp ghee (ojas builder)
- 1–2 Medjool dates or 1 tsp raw honey* (add honey only after cooling to below 110°F / 43°C)
- 1 pinch black pepper (helps absorb turmeric)
- 1–2 crushed cardamom pods or ¼ tsp cardamom powder
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, gently warm milk (and water if using) over low heat.
- Add turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, saffron, and black pepper.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring gently.
- Add ghee and chopped dates to the pot; blend with a hand blender if you want it smooth.
- Pour into a mug. If using honey, let it cool slightly before stirring it in.
