The Path to Optimal Wellness
Have you ever thought to yourself, “I wish there was a resource for optimal health, having a meaningful and life of purpose, and living with a sense of peace, contentment, and joy?” Join us on our wellness journey on Wednesdays! The journey to optimal health starts by syncing up with our true nature, honoring and developing our strengths. We must embrace and grow from our challenges, redirect habitual tendencies, and offer authentic support where it is needed most. Ayurveda is the science of life–a holistic tradition that reaches well beyond physical health, healing, and the prevention of disease. Ayurveda is as relevant today as it was over 5,000 years ago.
This path is important. It reconnects us with ourselves, maintaining balance and health through stresses and challenges. At its root, Ayurveda is a way of life that helps each of us claim and celebrate our capacity for a fully embodied sense of wellness. The Sanskrit word for health is “Svastha.” It is the harmonious interaction of many components untied to make a whole. This union is the mind, soul, and senses infused with an abiding sense of self, wellness, and bliss. While it may seem daunting to achieve this, Ayurveda provides a wealth of functional and insightful tools that can be used to anchor us in the present moment throughout the chaos. It can help us determine the root of our suffering and place us on track to reclaim our optimal health.
Hello, Amazing People!
My heart aches to witness the fear-based culture that is thriving today and strive for the progression to bring awareness to the positive effects of personal growth and lifestyle changes. Together, they create a better environment for overcoming the challenges of isolation, disconnection from self, and diminishing self-worth with the practices of self-care, daily routines, finding an authentic self, and personal development.
A little about me…
As a Yoga Therapist and an Ayurvedic Practitioner, I have owned and operated a yoga studio in Anoka for almost 20 years, facilitating a 200-hour yoga teacher training program. I have taught yoga for 24 years, 10 of which also included Ayurveda, a form of eastern medicine. I work closely with clients on structural anatomy, biomechanics and human movement, lifestyle consulting, hormone health; and mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
I am an artist and an athlete, and I live my life with a purpose. Between painting and writing, I run ultramarathons as a pastime. I created a life that supports what I practice and teach with my ultimate passion for being able to guide my clients to their true potential. I enjoy helping those who are ready to open their perspectives to attaining optimal health through personalized preventative and self-care.
I am an open book. My personal evolution from challenges, obstacles, and blessings allows me to connect with others and guide them through their self-expression. I have shaped my struggles into strengths and use these experiences to grow. This is my purpose in life. I believe that each of us has the potential to be healthy and maintain optimal health through stress and tribulations.
For centuries, Eastern medicine has been at odds with Western ideals. Now more than ever, it is possible to unite these two approaches to create a fuller picture of wellness. They are not opposing forces but rather two approaches that can be successfully blended to complement each other to support routines, optimal wellness through nutrition, sleep, exercise, and stress management. The combination of these teachings creates a foundation for personal self-care and wellness and the positive effects of this mixture radiate throughout daily interactions and outlooks.
See you Soon!
