Building a Foundation: Stress Management and Optimal Wellness Q & A with Kamie
In the past 5 months, our lives have changed drastically. The life that we once knew and the changes that happened are almost unimaginable. One of the aspects of life that changed is schools, something that is now a controversial issue.Â
I will not impose my opinion on how this issue has been addressed or perhaps avoided. The decision was handed down to school districts, then to principles before finally to staff and teachers. I will stop before I begin to rant.Â
Jenna and I are curious: What would you do with your time if you were rested, deeply nourished on all levels, focused, filled with creative energy, and felt truly alive?Â
We have gifts and talents that we would love to share with you. My name is Kamie Slegers, and I am a yoga therapist and Ayurvedic practitioner. Jenna, a trained meditation and yoga teacher, has been at my side since 2017. (See the link for more information about Jenna and I along with a few sidekicks.)
My heart aches to witness the fear-based culture that thrives today. Jenna and I strive to educate the importance and positive effects of lifestyle changes and self-care. (Read my blog “Selfcare is Not About Being Glamorous.“) Together, they create a better environment for overcoming the challenges of stress, COVID isolation, and diminishing self-worth due to extreme changes and disconnection from self and others. We will guide you through self-care practices, introduce specific daily routines, educate you on why they are essential, and help you gain a deeper connection with your authentic self.
For centuries, Eastern medicine has been at odds with Western ideals. Now more than ever, it is possible to unite these two approaches to create a fuller picture of wellness. They are not opposing forces but two methods that can be successfully blended to complement each other to support, among other things, routines, and optimal wellness through nutrition, sleep exercise, and stress management. The combination of these teachings creates a foundation for personal self-care and wellness and the positive effects of this mixture radiate throughout daily interactions and outlooks.
Join us on your journey, guided by the wisdom of Eastern medicine and the research of Western science. Together we will explore optimal wellness one baby step at a time. We want to help you find a deeper meaning to life, live with more energy, feel connected to what you are doing, and have meaningful relationships.Â
